Royal predicate for Kemper en van Twist Diesel after 175 years in business

Kemper en van Twist Diesel, our Dealer in the Netherlands, has received the grand honour of a Royal predicate recognising their successful and innovative 175 years in business.

Kemper en van Twist, who can now add 'Royal' to their corporate name, was awarded the prestigious accolade on 28th February 2013 by the Queen's Commissioner, Jan Franssen. The company, currently managed by sixth generation Norbert van Twist, also revealed a new corporate logo that incorporates a royal crown.

In celebration of the Royal recognition, Rob van Twist, former Managing Director, has compiled the impressive company history into a commemorative Jubilee book and DVD, '175 Years Van Twist', including unique historical material to illustrate its history closely linked to the development of the Dutch city Dordrecht.

Rob van Twist commented on the company's evolution:
"The crane rental and transport company brought us many great projects, but for me, as well as Norbert, diesel fuel flows through our blood. I moved the company in a strategic direction last century, disposing of a number of business activities to focus more on diesel engines and generator sets."
He continued:
"What motivates us is working with our customers to turn a semi-finished product, the diesel engine, into a quality end-product that delivers their power when and how they need it. At Kemper en van Twist we follow our vision for innovation and constantly look for new ideas and developments."
In a double celebration, Kemper en van Twist was awarded the first 'Sustainable Recognition' Quality Award in the Netherlands by Industry association BOVAG Revision Enterprises. The company closely follows sustainable and green technology developments and has introduced various environmentally friendly solutions, for example reducing CO2 solutions, reusing components and materials, and correct disposal of residual materials.

During the 175 year anniversary event, which celebrated both awards, Dutch astronaut, Andre Kuipers, spoke about his last space flight experience. His comments on taking responsibility for the sustainable future of planet earth are reflected in the vision of Kemper en van Twist.
Both awards show that Kemper en Van Twist's evolution and constant change over the last 175 years has contributed to a successful organisation.

Kemper en Van Twist was founded in 1836, starting as a horse stable and later expanding into a number of industries including transport, removals, cars and crane rental. Since the start of the 20th century, founder Willem van Twist sold diesel engines, changing the focus to mechanical horsepower, and has been an official FG Wilson Dealer since 1985.

KVT provides FG Wilson diesel and gas generator sets, emergency power installations and power solutions. The company works with customers across energy, oil and maritime industries, even delivering the propulsion engine for 'De Groene Draeck', a royal yacht of the Netherlands.
